Veritech Corporation was one of the many innovative companies which exhibited their products at the Tech23 Conference in Surry Hills Sydney on Thursday 19th August 2010.
The conference was sponsored by NSW Industry and Innovation, and Australian Technology Showcase, and co-ordinated by SlatteryIT. The second annual Tech23 conference was a platform for 23 of the best innovative companies from NSW and across Australia. Each of the companies had a five-minute timeslot to show off their business model to an audience of over 400 potential investors, mentors, entrepreneurs and customers. Not only did the Tech23 companies have five minutes to shine, but there was also an attentive panel of experts to allow them to interact with industry leaders.
Tech23 companies will also had the opportunity to network with investors, mentors, customers and advisors throughout the day. Outside the conference room was "Innovation Island" - a showcase of the Tech23 companies and also other innovative companies like Veritech Corporation - showing their wares. Inspirational products were everywhere to be found, and the conference was well attended by a broad cross section of industry, including investors, inventors, students and business developers.
The Veritech Corporation booth showed off the Veritoken and how easy to use it is to use. Using the efficient OpenVPN protocol, the Veritoken can help telecommuters quickly and easily connect back to their workplace, using two-factor security and SSL security. A number of delegates commented on how brilliantly effective the Veritoken was, and that it was a clearly marketable and useful innovation. Some other delegates also discussed how the OpenVPN protocol might be useable in their own products.
At the end of the day a number of Innovation Pathways Prizes were awarded. These were the: Broadband Innovation Award - iCetana; Outstanding Collaboration for Innovation Award - Taggle Systems; Community Contribution Award - Solar-Gem; Greatest Potential Award - BuildingIQ; Innovation Excellence Award - Marathon Robotics.
The award winners were announced at the Tech23 Awards Event Presentation Event by NSW Minister for Small Business, Francesco Terenzini MP. The Minister said that Tech23 "is about turning smart ideas into smart businesses by supporting the commercialisation and growth of the best new ideas emerging from our ICT industry - the engine room of our growing digital economy."
Tech23's organiser and director of SlatteryIT, Rachel Slattery, commented on what a tight contest it had been. "The prizes are great but there is so much more to Tech23. Already it is obvious how much the Tech23 companies will get out of the event. Many have met potential clients, partners, investors, mentors- who knows what great things may happen as a result!"
Veritech congratulates the winners of the Tech23 Innovation Pathways Prizes, and looks forward to rubbing shoulders with such well-regarded innovators at the next 2011 conference!
