Veritech Corporation offers a simple, portable and secure solution for remote access

Veritech Corporation has spent a number of years looking at the shortcomings of the current commercially available Virtual Private Network (VPN) systems, and in 2009 released the Veritoken; a simple, secure, portable and fast VPN solution using open-source software, and good old Australian Innovation.

Veritoken is Veritech's solution for a simple, portable and secure VPN client device. Designed to complement Endian Firewall Appliances, or any other OpenVPN Server, the Veritoken is a USB Token device which provides an all-in-one VPN Client Solution.

With a personal notebook or at an Internet Cafe or other computer the Veritoken gives users secure access back to the workplace, and leaves no access for others once removed. Staff can now travel and work, and have full secure access to the workplace network -wherever they are.

The Veritoken has tackled all of the constraints with popular VPN systems, it is simple to set up and use, is effective in remote regions and has two factor authentication for heightened security.

In the case of remote access for businesses, access through secure websites or SSL links can be quite restrictive. Instead ‘road warriors’ have traditionally used strong systems like IPSEC to connect to the workplace. Although these systems provide secure links, they are often difficult to set up and are not conducive to being transferred from one client computer to another.

Unlike many VPN solutions, the Veritoken is easily moved from one computer to another, and stores the security certificate on the token itself, ensuring physical identification for every connection. By keeping the Veritoken handy, users will be able to access their office or workplace wherever they are and with any PC
that has a USB port.

Another benefit of the Veritoken that is very close to Veritech CEO and Veritoken developer Livio Mazzon’s heart is the ability to use the token in remote areas.
“After many years of frustration with VPN’s whilst living on a remote property I decided that there was a need for a VPN solution that was effective with the slower internet speeds that are common in rural and remote areas. By using Open VPN with the token I am now guaranteed access in all regional and remote areas” commented Mr Mazzon.

By using a physical USB token, and a username/password combination the Veritoken offers two factor authentication; a connection to the workplace can only be initiated with an authorised person in possession of their token. The security is stored on the key itself, and can only be initiated from the physical device.

Livio Mazzon believes that there was a call for a VPN solution that was suitable for a wide range of needs and most importantly would work in all networking environments.

“By creating a solution that works even in the most demanding remote networking environments, we have developed a system which is applicable to a wide range of needs. The Veritoken is an ideal business solution for businesses that require remote access to networks; this could be telecommuters, staff working from home
or staff away on regular meetings. It is literally a solution that provides access to your workplace wherever and whenever you like” commented Mr Mazzon.

“Veritokens can be purchased simultaneously with the purchase of an Endian Firewall and Veritech staff will preconfigure the tokens ready for use. Alternatively, if you have an existing OpenVPN Server in operation, we can build the Veritoken configuration to suit your environment”.

“Purchase as many Veritokens as you require for your telecommuting staff. We accept orders as small as one or two, and up to hundreds of units” commented Mr Mazzon.

Interested buyers can visit www.veritechcorp.com.au or contact any of the Veritech Resellers across Australia to purchase their Veritokens.
